Green Corridor: Vehicles to Glide Smoothly from IIM Road to Samatamulak Crossing

Phase II of the Green Corridor Project Gains Momentum; 60% Completion of 4-Lane Bridges at Kukrail River and Nishatganj

Lucknow: The second phase of the Green Corridor Project has picked up pace, promising seamless vehicular movement from IIM Road to Samatamulak Crossing upon completion. Housing Commissioner Dr. Balkar Singh inspected the project on Tuesday, reviewing the construction progress. Satisfied with the development, he commended the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) team for their dedicated efforts. LDA Vice Chairman Prathamesh Kumar, along with other officials and engineers, accompanied him during the inspection.

Key Milestones Achieved:

The first phase of the Green Corridor, which includes the widening of the embankment from IIM Road to Pakka Pul, construction of a 4-lane road, and the Gau Ghat Bridge, has been completed. Dr. Singh commenced his inspection from this route and proceeded to review the 1.8 km-long flyover/ROB under construction from Pakka Pul to Daliganj. According to LDA Vice Chairman Prathamesh Kumar, the flyover, being built at a cost of INR 210 crore, is 30% complete.

Furthermore, the construction of a 2-lane bridge, 240 meters in length at Hanuman Setu, with an estimated cost of INR 27 crore, has reached 50% completion. The widening of the embankment and construction of a 4-lane road from Hanuman Setu to Nishatganj, covering a stretch of 1.8 km, has also commenced.

In Nishatganj, the construction of a 210-meter-long 4-lane bridge is advancing rapidly, with 65% of the work completed. This project is being carried out at a cost of INR 49 crore. Between Nishatganj and the Kukrail Bridge, embankment widening and 4-lane road construction covering approximately 1 km have reached 35% completion.

Similarly, the 4-lane bridge over the Kukrail River, spanning 240 meters and constructed at a cost of INR 50 crore, is 60% complete. Additionally, tenders have been issued for constructing a 330-meter-long 4-lane bridge between Kukrail Bridge and Baikunth Dham. Dr. Singh instructed that all projects under this phase be completed within the stipulated timeframe to ensure that city residents benefit from improved connectivity at the earliest.

Rashtriya Prerna Sthal to Feature Army Tanks

Dr. Balkar Singh also inspected the Rashtriya Prerna Sthal, being developed in Sector-J of the Basant Kunj Scheme, spread over 65 acres. LDA Vice Chairman Prathamesh Kumar informed that the government has sanctioned INR 165 crore for this project, with 90% of the work, including the installation of statues of eminent personalities, already completed.

Additional works such as museum curation, synthetic track installation, and horticultural development are pending, with a revised DPR submitted for government approval. Notably, the Rashtriya Prerna Sthal will also display two army tanks. Dr. Singh directed that appropriate locations be chosen for these exhibits to enhance public viewing. The project aims for completion by March 2026, aligning with the vision of the Hon’ble Chief Minister. The site will also feature a museum, a helipad, and a nearly 3 km long walkway, offering a comprehensive cultural and recreational space for visitors.
